Montauk, NY & NYC

Our time in New York in September 2017 was adventurous and fun. We had a lot of visitors on the boat which was a nice treat for us. We enjoyed beautiful and natural Montauk with family. A cute town with an iconic lighthouse and beautiful beaches.

We left Montauk in a hurry to try to head "west" to "hide" from hurricane Jose. Our journey on Long Island Sound took us to a small anchorage called Port Washington where we anchored for a night so that we could get up very early and make the journey through "Hell Gate" at the north end of the East River. Sailing in the quiet, still morning past La Guardia Airport, The UN, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Statue of Liberty was a complete thrill.

We spent the week seeing old friends, going to Broadway shows, eating delicious food, and visiting Ellis Island and Lady Liberty. It was a fantastic week!
